Combine 1tbsp honey, 3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari, 1 tbsp seasoned rice wine vinegar, 1 large minced garlic clove, 1 tsp red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste. I used this to marinate some chicken I put in a stir fry with brown rice, onions, carrots and mushrooms. I think it would be a good marinade for some cubed tofu too!

Ingredients: one slice of whole grain bread with circle cut out of the middle, one egg, half an avocado, a few shredded basil leaves, parmasean cheese, salt and pepper, hot sauce, butter or cooking spray Melt two teaspoons of...
my culinary dream come true
so i am extremely excited about this and i thought my food blog would be the best place to express my excitement: my favorite celebrity chef (although i hate that term, what i really mean is the chef i look up most to in terms of cooking style, presentation, and taste as well as in total personality), ina garten, aka the barefoot contessa, is coming to do book signings in maryland, my home state,...
Easy healthy and delicious snack :)
I am an Edgy Veg: Raw Thai Salad →
edgyveg: This salad was inspired by my love for pad thai. Fun salads are key to keeping up an exciting raw diet. No one wants to eat plain lettuce three meals a day… common now. 2 zucchinis, sliced into strips (I use a vegetable peeler) 2 large handfuls of bean sprouts 3/4 cup chopped peanuts
new recipes i'm working on this week
i just got ingredients for two bowls: one is a really warm wintery one i made a couple weeks ago that i’m going to tweak, it’s got tempeh chickpeas brown rice sweet potatoes and kale <3 and the other is a noodle bowl with shiitake mushrooms, arame seaweed, red bell pepper, carrots and cubed tofu!

hi y’all! i just made these tasty babies for kevin today. he has yet to try them but i think they’re deliiicious! the cupcake recipe is from Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World; the frosting recipe is my own! a lot of the ingredients Isa’s vegan frosting recipes are harder to find at a regular grocery store so i had to improvise and i think i did a...

i eat way too much curry to be real. but i haven’t made it myself in a really long time! yesterday i made a thai panang curry with a curry paste i picked up while i was in oregon. i basically just followed the directions on the jar for putting the curry together, adding some of my favorite things to the sauce. Thai Panang Curry with Sweet Potatoes, Chickpeas, Onions, and Tofu You will...
Don’t be fooled by their resemblance to pork rinds! These delicious lil nuggets are vegan and have the most meaty texture I’ve ever tasted in a soy product fo sho. Currently they’re not available on the East coast (unless you wanna order them), but I just visited Portland last week and they’re all over the place there! Even sold in bulk in some places. To prepare your...

Everything But the Kitchen Sink Scramble
Terrible quality picture I know, but I was so hungry my hands were shaking!! I made this tofu scramble on my last day at the beach last week, when I needed to use up all of the vegetables in the fridge. Basically you can put whatever you want in a tofu scramble and it will probably taste good. But here’s what I put in mine! 1 pkg extra-firm tofu, drained and pressed of all excess water,...
Cinnamon Toast Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese...
I know it’s been a minute since I’ve posted a recipe on here, but I’m back from vacation and I’ve got lots of yummeh food to share with you guys, beginning with these DEEEELICIOUS cupcakes I made for my best friend Sophie’s birthday! The recipe for these cupcakes comes from this awesome book I got for Christmas from my mom. It’s called Cupcakes from the Cake...
Me and Kevin made these tonight for dinner. They’re REALLY tasty…we used quinoa for the filling of ours, but you could use brown rice, cous cous, or really any grain you want! Also feel free to mix it up with the vegetables and just use whatever you have on hand! I kind of messed up the proportions with this and ended up with a TON of filling for only two peppers…so I adjusted...
These noodles were pretty easy to make and really tasty! I cheated a little and used a store bought sesame sauce instead of making my own entirely from scratch. These noodles could be served at any temperature, but since it’s been so hot here lately (in the 100s), I’d suggest chilling them for about an hour before serving. You will need: 8 oz whole wheat linguini pasta 1 package...
The caprese sandwich…so good, so classic, so simple. And I made one the other night that kicks the ass of the caprese sandwich at school. I served mine with avocado salad aka half an avocado sliced with hot sauce and kosher salt on top. You will need: 1/4 a baguette/1 ciabatta roll (I really think it would taste best on one of these, I had some really nice baguette from whole foods it...
simple stir fry
I made this stir fry for Kevin and a friend and myself for lunch this past weekend, it was pretty good. I FINALLY got PERFECT tofu, I was so proud of myself for those golden lil cubes. Perfect texture. To get the tofu the perfect amount of firmness, I drained it of its water, and wrapped it in many layers of paper towels. Then I set the block on a plate, then put another plate ontop of the block...
